Tummy Tuck (Abdominoplasty): In this procedure excess skin and fat can be removed, abdominal contours and scars improved, and the muscles tightened. Different combinations are combined in the various different procedures.
The excess skin and fat of the abdominal wall in the area below the navel is removed without removing or damaging the navel itself. The skin of the abdominal wall is then pulled together and sutured closed provide a tight and smooth finish to the skin in that area. The patient is left with a long, usually curved scar across the lower part of the abdominal wall at the level of the pubic hair. There is also normally a small scar around the umbilicus.
Surgery After Weight Loss: A recent phenomenon in modern life has been the advent of Bariatric or “Weight Loss” surgery to help chronically obese patients to lose significant weight. For many patients there is the unwanted result of having a great deal of excess or very saggy areas of skin. Since the skin may have been distended due to the patient’s weight over an extended period of time, it has lost its elasticity and will never shrink back. With a combination of treatments sometimes referred to as a “Body Lift” surgeons can now perform skin removal surgery to restore the body to position where it looks proportionate to the remaining body mass of the patient. This may need to be performed a several procedures and this will be reviewed with your consultant and a specific programme tailored for each individual patient
Arm Lift (Brachioplasty): Is a surgical procedure that is performed on the upper arm to address excess sagging skin that droops downward, sometimes rather uncharitably referred to as “Bingo Wings”. The procedure aims to tighten and smooth the underlying supportive tissues that define the shape of the upper arm by reducing localised pockets of fat and removing excess skin in the upper arm region. The drooping underarm skin can be a result of several factors such as, fluctuations in weight, growing older, and hereditary issues. This is a condition that cannot be corrected through exercise.
Thigh Lift: For many women in particular with large thighs, this can be very restrictive on their lifestyle choices such as whether they feel comfortable exercising or what types of close they feel comfortable wearing. Thigh lift surgery is used to remove excess skin, and in some cases fat, resulting better definition of the thighs with smoother skin and thighs that are more in proportion with the contours of the lower body.
In many cases exercise and dieting will not allow you to achieve your goals of having a lower body that is firmer, more youthful-looking and more proportionate to your overall body image, then a surgical thigh lift may be the best option for you.
Body Contouring: As people strive for a body image that they are comfortable with and allows them to have confidence in their daily lives the challenge becomes more difficult to find the right life balance to achieve this. For many people exercise and diet don’t deliver the result they want and this is where cosmetic surgery can help them achieve their goals. We have listed here a range of individual procedures which on their own will address specific issues in specific area. In discussion with you consultant it is possible to put together a comprehensive treatment plan that will allow several issues to be addressed over time. Even small refinements such as previous scars, lack of muscle definition, etc. can de-address with the use of complementary treatments such as fillers, minor fat transfers, and minor liposuction.
