Breast Surgery Harley Street, London
The Breast is the most common body area for surgery amongst women in the UK according to a BAAPS survey carried out in 2013. Clearly it is the most important element of their femininity and is most often the most common cause of low self-esteem and embarrassment when it comes to body image.
As the demand for this type of surgery has increased and with the advances in surgical techniques and anaesthesia these procedures are now more affordable than they have ever been. At Elanic London our entry level price for a Breast Enlargement with round implants is £4,000, this includes the extensive warranty cover that applies to all of our procedures, but specifically in the case of implants it includes the Mentor implant guarantee.
Within the Elanic team we have some of the UK’s most prolific breast surgeons who have expertise in all aspects of Reconstructive and Aesthetic breast surgery. We are especially pleased to have Mr Vivek Sivarajan leading the team with his wealth of experience and pioneering approach to advanced day case breast surgery.
We have listed the most common procedures in this section for information, however there are sometimes several different methods to achieve the desired result, with the most effective not being the most obvious. For example a patient may wish a “fuller bosom with an enhanced cleavage”. For women with small breasts this may be a breast augment; for a woman with droopy breasts this may be a breast uplift (mastopexy); for a woman with larger breasts this maybe a breast reduction.
Therefore when considering cosmetic surgery it is important that you discuss clearly with your consultant the desired results and not necessarily focus on the procedure itself.
Breast Augmentation: Sometimes referred to as a “Boob Job” is the most common single cosmetic surgery procedure carried out today in the UK. Depending on what the patient wishes to achieve implants can be placed above or under the chest muscle. There are also two main style of implants, firstly, anatomical implants with a “tear drop” shape, which give a more natural and subtle result. The second style is round implants which give a fuller breast shape resulting in a more prominent cleavage. This look is more popular amongst younger women. Your surgeon will be able to advise on the most suitable type of implant for you. Click Here for more..
Breast Uplift (Mastopexy): This procedure is designed to reshape the breasts to look more youthful and feel more firm. Surplus skin is removed from underneath the breast, the breast itself is remodelled into a tighter more natural shape and the nipples are normally repositioned at a higher level so that they are in proportion and aligned with the new position of the breasts. Mastopexy is often combined with breast augmentation to provide the optimum result. The need and benefits of a combined procedure will be discussed with you by your consultant if it is deemed necessary. Breast Reduction: The aim of breast reduction surgery is to restore proportion by reducing the size of the breast while lifting it at the same time. The nipple may need to be repositioned and the size of the areola (pink area around the nipple) reduced to match the proportion of the new breast. During the procedure the surgeon will remove excess breast tissue through an incision that circles the areola, extends down in a vertical line and then follows the natural curve of the crease beneath the breast. This procedure will normally require a hospital stay. Click Here for more..
Male Breast Surgery (Gynaecomastia): This condition is sometimes referred to as “Man Boobs” and Gynecomastia surgery is now a commonplace surgical procedure. Depending on the patient and the scale of the surgery this is a procedure which may be performed under local anaesthetic and sedation as a day case. During the procedure the surgeon will make small incisions and may use liposuction to remove fat and glandular tissues if required. Then it may be required to remove some excess skin tissue to reshape the chest area to achieve the desired result, in which case this will most likely mean a hospital stay. Click Here for more..
Nipple Correction: Nipples vary in shape and size from flat, to pointed, to having one or 2 “lobes” at the tip, to bumpy, to looking like a dimple, or to being completely inverted. But for both women and men having one or both nipples not prominent can be the cause of personal self-consciousness, as can be the shape of the areola. Nipple correction procedures are relatively simple and are normally done as a day case. Click Here for more..
Breast Contouring: Fat Transfer offers a natural solution to restore volume and shape to breasts in both men and women who may have lost some of their definition through ageing, weight loss or after a previous surgical procedure. In some cases even a relatively small fat transfer procedure can restore breasts to their original look and shape. Using a simple liposuction procedure fat is harvested from another area of the patient’s body where it is in excess then it is processed locally and placed into the breast area where it is needed. The two procedures (harvesting and placement) usually take between 3 to 4 hours.
